THE COLLECTION

Light & Stone

This collection is a celebration of stone — a material full of character, deeply rooted in place, and too often overlooked. The idea at its heart is simple: something ancient and grounded can still feel modern, organic, and even playful.

EXPLORE THE COLLECTION

Created by Nature. Refined by Hand

Each piece starts as a raw piece of stone — sourced from quarries where time has already done the hard work. Our job is simply to reveal what the stone already knows. Where to shine a light, cast a shadow or leave untouched.

Quarry landscape

“Inside every piece of stone is millions of years of history — it is the craftsman’s responsibility to honour that story.”

Standing Tall

Carved from natural stone, each lamp draws on organic shapes and some of the oldest design principles — rooted in the natural world, but shaped into something entirely their own.

Holding a Flame

This eclectic collection of candle holders aims to showcase stone in a different light. By softening its edges, playing with scale, and pairing it with other materials, the pieces encourage a more intimate, human connection with stone.

Beyond the Collection

Stone tells a different story depending on how you treat it. These concepts explore that tension — where a polished surface meets a rough natural edge.

From Quarry to Collection

Every piece in the collection begins with a deliberate and patient search for the right stone. Given the scale of some of these objects, the use of “unwanted” and “rejected” stone is key to the selection process. Recycling such a noble material is not an afterthought — it is central to how these pieces are brought to life.

Where brass or other materials are introduced, they are chosen to complement the stone, creating natural alliances that stand the test of time. Over the months and years that follow, each piece will subtly transform — becoming something even more unique and personal.

A Natural Fit

The Knott Stone Collection is built on core principles: a reverence for natural materials, a commitment to artisan craft, and a belief that the most beautiful objects are those shaped by time.

01

Material Authenticity

Every piece uses unprocessed natural stone — no composites, no veneers, no artificial treatments. A commitment to genuine materials runs through the entire collection.

02

Timeless Design

These are not trend-driven objects. They are designed to age gracefully, developing character over decades — rooted in a philosophy of enduring design.

03

Artisan Craft

Each piece is hand-carved by skilled artisans, ensuring the individuality and quality expected from the most treasured possessions.

04

Considered Growth

While each piece is unique, strong quarry partnerships and dedicated workshop capacity allow the collection to grow thoughtfully — meeting demand without compromising the craft.

Our Story

Knott is a mountain in the northern English Lake District — remote, unhurried, and seldom visited, hidden from the wider Lakes by the great fells of Skiddaw and Blencathra. Its name derives from the ancient Cumbric language, meaning simply "hill". No grand claim. No need for one. Something rises above the landscape, above the ordinary. Not shouting, but ever present. This is KNOTT.

Knott is a design studio rooted in a deep respect for natural materials. The Stone Collection is an exploration of raw geology and refined craft — born from a fascination with the stories held within stone, shaped over millennia before they ever reach a hand or a home.

Each piece is designed with a meticulous eye for proportion, texture, and quiet drama. Not to dominate a space, but to elevate it.
